University-Industry Relations Committee (CdRUE)

Nature

The University Corporate Relations Committee (CdRUE) organises, promotes and supervises educational cooperation programmes between the School and businesses, as well as other university extension activities for which the ETSETB is responsible, according to the powers entrusted to it by the School Board and the Standing Committee.


In extraordinary circumstances, and in duly justified cases, the School's director may authorise exceptions to these regulations. 

Functions

The CdRUE’s functions are to:

a) Define the objectives of external academic placements in curricula linked to the ETSETB on the proposal of the School's management team and academic committees.

b) Ensure that external academic placements and other activities linked to companies provide training that complements the knowledge acquired by students in their academic education.

c) Every academic year, draft reports on external academic placements, which are submitted to the Standing Committee, broken down by degree according to the indicators established in the School's IQAS.

d) Review and monitor placements according to current regulations on external academic placements.

e) Establish and review the criteria for recognising credits for university extension activities on those degrees in which the legislation allows it and when the unit in charge is the ETSETB.

f) Assess all applications for credit recognition of university extension activities of which the unit in charge is the ETSETB, which are submitted to the Standing Committee for approval.

g) Within its scope of action, develop the regulations established by the School's governing bodies and make the necessary proposals.

h) All the functions entrusted to it by the School Board and the Standing Committee, particularly those assigned to it in the School's IQAS.

i) Any matter that may contribute to the adequate fulfilment of its objectives and that is not the responsibility of one of the School's governing bodies.

 

Composition

The CdRUE is composed of:

a) The assistant director responsible for business relations, who is the chair.

b) The assistant director responsible for quality at the ETSETB.

c) A member of the Office of the Academic Secretary, who is appointed by the head of the Bachelor's and Master's Degree Management Unit of the ETSETB in each session and who acts as secretary in an advisory, non-voting capacity.

d) Two of the School's professors.

e) Two students enrolled in any of the bachelor's or master's degrees managed by the ETSETB, who are proposed by the Student Delegation. Bachelor's students must have passed at least 120 ECTS credits.

If the post is unfilled or the committee secretary is absent or on leave, the committee chair must appoint a substitute.

 

Term and renewal

The term of office of the elected professors mentioned in point d) is two years. They are appointed by the School's director after hearing the Standing Committee.
The term of office of the students mentioned in point e) is one academic year and must be renewed before the first ordinary session of the year. Students are appointed by the School's director after hearing the Standing Committee.
