Several students from the Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB) are part of the BCN eMotorSport team, where they contribute to the development of the racing vehicle in different technical areas.

Specifically, Rubén González and Luis David Parés, students of the Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering (MEE), and Ámbar López, David Ordoñez and Mar Soriano, students of the Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering (GREELEC), form part of the team's electronics department. For his part, Oriol Soldevila, a student of the Master's Degree in Advanced Telecommunications Technologies (MATT), is a member of the 'Autonomous Systems' department.

The Electronics team is responsible for the entire low-voltage system of the single-seater. Its main tasks include the design of printed circuit boards (PCBs), the management of the telemetry system and all low-voltage wiring, as well as the development of the vehicle's internal communications using the CAN protocol.

Regarding the Autonomous Systems department, its work focuses on the development of autonomous driving systems based on the data provided by the vehicle's sensors. To do this, they mainly use LiDAR technology, which allows them to obtain precise information about the environment. Based on these data, they optimize the position control of the single-seater using PI and PID controllers and develop digital models to simulate the vehicle's behavior before validating it on the track.

All this work culminates in the construction of the new CAT18x, the single-seater with which BCN eMotorsport will compete this season in different European circuits.
