Context

At Aedvices, we do two things: IC design and IC design verification. Our team focuses its energy on a single objective: to help you develop more secure products more cost effectively, while meeting your time-to-market targets.

Verification is part of our DNA

Today it is hard to think of a single area of our lives that doesn’t depend on microelectronics in one way or another. You can count on our deep knowledge of verification processes to help you keep your projects on deadline and release products that are 100% on-specification from the very first version of the chip. Our approach to verification is built on three pillars.

First, we use agile project management and continuous integration methods to keep your project moving forward on schedule so that you can hit your time-to-market targets.

Second, we identify bugs way before releases to help de-risk your project.

Third, we do verification early on to reduce the risk of costly silicon respins, additional iterations, and missed business opportunities due to delays.

Project description

 After in-house training and familiarization with the existing platform, you'll work on the project as part of a team with: another intern, your tutor, and a company employee.
In particular, you'll be working on the following topics (list adaptable as the internship progresses):
- Integration of the RiscV processor into a subsystem;
- Digital design and participation in the implementation of an I²C / PMBus RTL block;
- Porting existing embedded software to RiscV target;
- Verification of subsystem operation with SystemVerilog and UVM.
Depending on the progress of the internship, you may be asked to participate in:
- Breaking down an example SoC into power domains;
- Integrating the power management subsystem into the example SoC;
- Verification of UPF power management functionalities.

Goals

The goal of the internship is to participate in the evolution of a demonstration platform (RISC-V compatible System-On-Chip) into a SoC power management subsystem thanks to:

- the development of a power domain management demonstrator based on a RiscV processor;
- the completion and validation of the functionalities of an I²C / PMBus interface
- the implementation of low-power UPF simulation flows.
In the long term, these developments should enable to demonstrate the following aspects:
- RiscV processor energy management functionalities
- Hardware/software co-verification in a low-power environment.
