New master's degree in Semiconductor Engineering and Microelectronic Design

The ETSETB will launch a new master's degree for the 2024/25 academic year: the master's degree in Semiconductor Engineering and Microelectronic Design, intended to train the next generation of professionals in this field.

This is a new interuniversity master, with teaching at the UPC, the UB, the UAB and the URV, which will offer a comprehensive education combined with the resources and the academic excellence of the four participating universities - with years of experience in training and research in semiconductor engineering and microelectronic design - and the participation of the CSIC's IMB-CNM, the reference center in microelectronic technologies. ETSETB is the managing university and the professor Antonio Rubio, from the Electronic Engineering department, is the coordinator.

The master in semiconductor engineering and microelectronic design covers a wide range of subjects and offers two specialisms. In the Semiconductors Engineering specialty you will be trained in the use of microelectronic chip technologies in different aspects, such as clean room manufacturing, encapsulation, characterization and reliability analysis , as well as the physical understanding of the phenomena occurring in current and emerging semiconductor devices. The specialty of Microelectronic Design aims to train in the design of integrated, digital and analog microelectronic circuits and systems in advanced technologies.
