Context: The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is Germany´s national research center for aeronautics and space and Germany´s space agency. Its extensive research and development work in Aeronautics, Space, Transportation and Energy is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. Approximately 5,500 people are employed in DLR´s 28 institutes and facilities at eight locations in Germany. Given the increasing interest towards convergence of 5G and satellite in suitable use-cases, i.e., for under/unserved areas or high mobile systems, the problam of expedited and reliable content delivery is of utmost importance. The challenge is in the different characteristics of the two media and the mobility of the networks (users) that can make the network point of access obsolete or the content available in caches no more updated, available or even requested.

Given the increasing interest towards convergence of 5G and satellite in suitable use-cases, i.e., for under/unserved areas or high mobile systems, the problam of resource allocation assumes particular importance. The challenge is in the different characteristics of the two media and the network slining approach applied to provide different virtual channels to application with different guarantee of QoS.
